Pursuit of Modeling (oh and happiness)

Ramblings of a Canadian/Russian grade 11 student (or as Americans would say, sophomore) aspiring to be a professional model. Join me on my journey to stardom.

Permalink Well, some how my step mother won a photo contest with this photo of me. I don’t know how but these weird things happen. I thought the photo looked way better before she cropped it, but a win is a win.
P.s. My face is not actually that chubby…it is just pressed against a glass mirror.

Agency Updates

I may seem like a little bit of a “two-timer”, dealing with all these agencies. But really all I want is to do find the best one before settling down; I want to find the agency that can make me a star.

-Still haven’t heard back from the super good one that’s highly selective, although it’s only been 6 days. I really hope to hear from them!!

-Got called in for a casting for Western Canada Fashion Week…too bad I’m away in Arizona when the casting is being held. Hopefully I’ll be able to still get in.

-One small boutique agency I was dealing with just closed. The owner contracted a very serious disease and is unable to run it, and doesn’t have the desire to keep it going anymore because of the rough environment that the modeling industry is at times. She referred all of the models to an agency in a larger city 3 hours away, I will wait to hear from “the super good agency” and then try applying to them.

Jeez modelling is tough to make a breakthrough in.

*keep them crossed*

Sent this snapshot to the scout I was supposed to meet at the mall (so that she would recognize me). We met, she told me about the agency, she snapped some photos. This agency seemed amazing to me! Here’s why:

They believe that models shouldn’t have to pay to build their book or pay for runway instruction, they believe that the agency should cover these costs. So rare for this industry!!! They develop her and when the model is ready send her off to Toronto to build the book and being work. But with that being said, they are highly selective because this is thousands of dollars they are pouring into a girl so they need to be certain that she will make it. So anyways the scout took some snapshots of me, and show them to the board and see if I have this “it-factor”!

So I’ll keep my fingers crossed to make this incredible agency’s cut!

Male Models To Die For

Oh who am I kidding…I can’t just name a couple. But here are some of my absolute favourites.

Simon Nessman. Beg to differ? Oh honey please…

Brett Kallio. I met him! That’s right ;)

Mitch Baker. Think Zac Effron only hotter.

When one just isn’t enough you have Travis and Jordan Smit.
